Project: Curtin University – Library Redevelopment

McDowall Affleck were engaged by Lendlease to provide third party temporary works engineering for the modifications and additions to the TL Robertson Library at Curtin University.

The scope of work included third party verification of temporary works including scaffolding, hoardings, lift studies, propping and formwork. Also, site inspections of temporary works and periodic site inspections of site facilities.

The project challenges required quick response times and limited as-built information available for the existing building. Our office location was close to site and we had a dedicated engineer on the project so was able to have regular site inspections to check the existing structure and confirm accuracy of design assumptions.

The real key was the value engineering on the project including timely response of MAPL’s dedicated engineer avoided site delays and having a practical approach to finding solutions to site issues.
