McDowall Affleck was engaged by Meyer Shircore to carry out design and documentation of this $6m one-story commercial development in Kwinana. The project’s objectives were to maximise usable space while providing straight forward, simple, efficient and economical design. Tilt-up panel and lightweight steel roof framing were chosen as building systems. Due to tenant’s requirements large open spaces were required driving the column grid constraints. Significantly varying site levels called for incorporation of in-situ, limestone and precast retaining walls. Steel framing was utilised to facilitate building façade and architectural tower framing. We have completed stage 1 of the project.
