Project Location

Dalyellup

Project Duration

12 Months

McDowall Affleck were appointed by the Ocean Forest Lutheran College as the project structural engineers for this new facility to be constructed to complement the existing school facilities. The structure consisted of a two storey resource centre constructed using tilt up panels with a first floor constructed using Deltacore floor planks. The library area was single storey steel framed structure with a roof level extending up to match that of the adjoining resource centre. The roof of the facility was steel framed. The new structure had to adjoin the existing school buildings at ground and first floor level and match the appearance of the previous stage of works. The project had to be designed to allow for the construction works to be carried out whilst the school was still in operation, hence the minimisation of trades required along with the optimisation of construction types to allow for a shorter timeframe on site.
