Grant commenced working with McDowall Affleck in 2004 as a Trainee Drafter, and through his ongoing professional development, he has held the positions of the Principal Civil Designer and Project Manager before completing his Bachelor of Engineering. Grant is also now the Production Manager for our Civil team.
Grant has significant experience in the design of roads, drainage, earthworks, hardstands, mining camps, ovals, MRWA works and carparks, as well as the Project Management skills to take a project from concept, through design, tender, approvals and construction. His foundation as a Civil Designer before becoming an Engineer has provided him with a combination of extensive modelling skills, design knowledge, commercial judgement, and the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, which he uses to produce high quality design solutions to suit various constraints and client requirements.
Grant also acts as the Superintendent’s Representative when administering contracts between the Principal and Contractor using Australian Standard General Conditions of Contract such as AS4000-1997. Some of the clients Grant has assisted include Decmil, Pindan, HWE, CBH, Strandline Resources, Premium Grain Handlers, Water Corporation, and numerous Local Authorities and private land developers.
